Metravel city quest
City Vitebsk: free walking route “The Bureau of Good City Deeds” along the sights. 8 points. Approximately 1 h 20 min. Quests and legends - straight from your
More than a hundred years ago, the writer Lazar Lagin was born in Vitebsk, the very man who dreamed up the good-natured genie ready to grant any kind wish. Ever since, people say of this city: it knows how to do good deeds.
Today you start your shift at the Bureau of Good City Deeds. The rule is simple: every bronze resident of the streets of Vitebsk has left a request, a small plea for a good deed. Until the requests are done, the city seems to wait with bated breath.
Go from figure to figure, work out what each hero needs, and close the requests one by one. A grown-up will help with the map and the crossings, but you are the one who decides.
The route points in order — what these places are and why they are interesting. Tasks and answers stay inside the quest.
The first request is the loudest one. The bronze street musician asks for just one thing: to wake the morning square with a cheerful tune.
The next request smells of flowers. The bronze flower seller is putting together a bouquet for the city's guests and asks you to help her choose the most Vitebsk flower of all.
The third request is quiet, like summer rain. In this figure's hands is an old vessel with a handle, the kind fairy tales used for drawing rainwater or the water of life.
The fourth request is almost done already, because the building itself is carrying it out. Here, behind the handsome facade, little wooden and rag-doll performers come to life every evening: they are guided across the stage by the hands of actors hidden behind a screen.
The fifth request comes from the city's craftsman. He has sat down with his tools and is checking someone's shoes before a long journey: he'll fix a heel, tighten a lace, and the traveler can calmly go on.
The sixth request is the most magical one. The bronze fish by the water grants wishes, but not just any: with one important condition, she accepts only those that help not you alone, but the whole city at once: its people, courtyard cats and birds, the trees in the parks and the clean river.
The seventh request asks you to raise your eyes. This tall figure has a chair, and the detail you need is hiding not on the ground but higher up, right on the seat or the back.
The last request is about loyalty. Right at the doorstep sits a bronze guard dog: he makes sure that no good deed gets lost.
